An honest voice atop two simple guitar melodies, American folk artist Sam Amidon’s new song “My Old Friend” escalates with drums and serene electric guitar solos that lead the listener past each verse to a peaceful place.

The lyrics are pure and nostalgic, opening with, “My old friend I recall, times we had are hanging on my wall, I wouldn’t trade them for gold. They laughed and they cried me, and somehow they divide me.” He sings about wishing he had chosen this old friend first, regretting to put so many years between them and the memories they share.
